in-person Private classes
Private classes offer practitioners yoga that is tailored to their own personal needs and goals, moving at a pace that is comfortable and appropriate to the individual.
This can mean a particular focus on, for example, building core strength, enhancing spine health and mobility, maintaining or increasing strength and range of motion in the shoulders or hips, improving balance and co-ordination, managing stress, building self-confidence….
Private yoga classes offer the opportunity to experience yoga in a safe and comfortable environment without feeling self-conscious or any pressure to ‘keep up’. This may be particularly beneficial for beginners.
One-to-one classes may also be helpful if practitioners are working with an injury, physical limitation of some sort, or simply want to take time out and practice self-care in a calm and nurturing setting, working towards an overall feeling of general wellbeing.
More experienced yogis can develop their practice and work on more advanced poses or transitions, moving more quickly, or slowing things right down - both of which can be challenging!
Whatever the focus of private classes, I always encourage people to breathe calmly, move with care, listen to their bodies and rest when they need to. That way the yoga practice is unique to each person, and is ultimately more enjoyable and beneficial.
I offer private in-person yoga classes in my home studio in Sainte Alvère. These can be a one-off class, a series of classes to focus on something particular, or a regular weekly class.
Both traditional yoga and chair yoga are available in this venue.
I also offer private (one-person) or semi-private (two people) classes in clients’ homes.
